Annette Rhodes, (left) shown with employees Robin Medenwaldt and Beth Hamm, her daughter, was 9 years old when she planted her first garden in Iowa. That 20X20 foot patch yielded all blue ribbons at the fair that year. She reopens her Nevis greenhouse Monday, Apr. 13, Rhodes Garden Center. She operated the greenhouse for 11 years before working for Neil Holland from 1987 until his death in 1991. The garden center offers annuals, perennials, tree stock, a complete line of nursery stock, vegetables, bedding plants, gifts and toys, yard ornaments, landscaping supplies, bulk seed, onion sets, fertilizers and spray. The greenhouse is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. |
